Can Running Too Much Affect

FOOTBALL opium of the people (first episode)

ENTERING THE WORLD! "FORZA ITALY! UNDER MAFIA! THIEVES FORCE! UNDER ESCORT! TISSUE STRENGTH! UNDER DUCE! SAN GENNARO FORCE! SAN PIO FORCE!
(and while Italy falls in the highest stage of bourgeois democratic dictatorship).

This excerpt from the film "In the name of the Italian people", Dino Risi's masterpiece, with its visionary power, grotesque and prophetic, perfectly represents the perverse mechanisms of calcium in the capitalist countries, a second opium of the people (after religion, of course), a real weapon "distraction" of the mass with a deadly ability of social control, to anesthetize the conscience, of clouding the minds of abbruttire man, the destruction, stupid, make it violent and fanatic, of unsound mind, a madman, a wild beast and crazy.

Football today is the mirror of the worst crimes of capitalism: corruption, fraud, deception, fraud, enrichment unbridled consumerism, commodification of man, cultural illiteracy, mental emptiness, alienation, frustration, athletics, hooliganism, fascist, players-dolls-Obtuse-tattooed-muscular, with attached tissue wagging in heat (with the figure of the woman who regresses to the lowest levels for).

In this scene, in a city gone mad, with roads blocked and overflowing with a shapeless mass of people, flags, carousels cars honking, yelling and crazy acts of hooliganism, it is succession of images swirling, surreal and disturbing underclass possessed over the car with tricolor flags; of drunken thugs to bare back screaming with bottles of wine in his hand; of madmen on the roofs of houses waving blue flags, and bursts of girls who make handsome ornamental and ornaments in this infernal crush;

of idiots bespectacled and toothless, with drums and trumpets , throwing raspberries and rude gesture against the losing team; transvestite who perform in foul language towards opposing players, making the circle of priests chanting verses from children and spouting Latin phrases, the lame and nostalgic veterans hailing indifferently Boninsegna and the Duce, in Rivera and Italy;

sailors and paratroopers in uniform singing "La Sagra Di Giarabub" (fascist song of a famous battle of World War II against the English), and finally a machine of a British tourist on fire, the final desolation of the city, is also a metaphor for the desolation of the minds, dignity and intelligence of men and their ability to bestial degradation.

So Risi saw Italy in 1971 and today is even worse, because in the meantime has exploded and spread a more and more deadly tool of "distraction" and mass alienation: the TV.
